Dr. Martin Murenbeeld is Chief Economist at DundeeWealth Economics. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1972 with a Ph.D. in international finance. He joined the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Toronto, but left in 1978 to start M. Murenbeeld & Associates Inc., a consultancy specializing in gold and foreign exchange markets, as well as domestic and international financial and economic trends. In July 2004, DundeeWealth Inc. purchased M. Murenbeeld & Associates Inc. and Dr. Murenbeeld was appointed Chief Economist, and in 2007 Murenbeeld & Associates Inc. became DundeeWealth Economics.

Dr. Murenbeeld edits all company reports, including the weekly Gold Monitor, Financial Monitor, and monthly Economic Monitor. He is frequently quoted in the financial press and often speaks at international mining and economic conferences. He also is an adjunct professor of international finance with the Faculty of Business at the University of Victoria.

Over the years, he has spoken at conferences hosted by The London Bullion Market Association, The Gold and Silver Institutes, The International Precious Metals Institute, The Denver Gold Group, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, the Australian Gold Council, The National Association of Business Economists (U.S.), The Conference Board of Canada, The Canadian Council of Financial Analysts, The Canadian Pulp and Paper Association, and The Canadian Institute of Mining, to name a few.
